Rhiannon’s Story

My parents were never married and they were both addicts. I watched them party and do meth around me, and I dropped out of high school when I was 16. I started using pot and alcohol to party with my sister and her friends. Then I experimented with all kinds of drugs. I turned to meth, because it was familiar.

I have 3 daughters and it was so overwhelming to think of providing for these kids. I didn’t finish school and didn’t have a driver’s license. I couldn’t figure out how to get back onto a good path, so I just gave up.

When I came to MnTC I was only going to do 30 days, and then I did 60 days and I was dead set on staying short term, but decided to stay because I really want to be a family with my children again.

Before I came here, to me using drugs was completely normal. It’s all I knew and all I saw. I want to stop the generational curse and be sober for my kids so they don’t make the same mistakes I made.
